Situated at the charming Saling Airfield, Andrewsfield Milli-Bar is a delightful café that captures the essence of leisurely dining in the heart of the countryside. This hidden gem is not just a stop; it’s an experience, especially for those who find joy in aviation, cycling, or simply the great outdoors. The café welcomes everyone with open arms, making it a perfect pitstop for avid cyclists, motorcyclists, and aviation enthusiasts alike.

As you step inside, you’re enveloped in a warm, inviting atmosphere. The friendly staff are eager to serve, ensuring that each visitor feels right at home. The ambiance is enhanced by the soothing backdrop of planes taking off and landing, making each meal an experience to remember. On lovely days, consider sitting outside under the marquee seating area, where you can soak in the sun and the vibrant interactions of fellow diners and adventurers.

The menu at Andrewsfield Milli-Bar boasts a selection of comforting and satisfying offerings. The star of the show often comes in the form of their jacket potatoes, with options like the classic cheese and beans (£7.50) or the hearty chilli topping (£8.95). Each potato is prepared fresh, exuding a savory aroma that pleases the senses right from the first bite.

For those looking for something lighter, their range of sandwiches doesn't disappoint. You can choose from a delightful tuna sandwich (£4.95) or indulge in the rich flavors of a brie and cranberry combination (£4.75), perfectly balanced for an afternoon treat. And who could resist the option of a classic bacon sandwich (£5.25) paired with a cuppa? As one customer, Maini S, wonderfully put it, the jacket potatoes here are “super fresh and absolutely delicious.”

Customer reviews echo the café’s charm, with Jack Kent recommending it as a prime breakfast spot for passing cyclists and motorcyclists, while Katrina McManus highlights the delightful experience of enjoying food outdoors amidst the bustling activity of the airfield. The café truly serves as a hub for community and camaraderie—an excellent place to relax, chat, and enjoy good food.

In a world where fast food reigns supreme, Andrewsfield Milli-Bar stands out for its commitment to quality and fresh preparation. It might be unassuming, as Dean 4rex describes, but its unpretentious nature lends to the authentic experience you’ll treasure. Come hungry and leave happy at the heart of Andrewsfield Aerodrome—your taste buds and spirit will thank you.

Lovely quiet place in the Essex countryside with nice home made lunches and cakes. Great value for money too. £2.75 for a cream tea! (Correct at time of posting).

Such a lovely ambient atmosphere. Food and drinks very reasonable and food freshly prepared in the kitchen. On a dry sunny day, it is nice to sit outside and watch the aircraft come and go. Lots of bikers like to gather here, either off roaders, modern and vintage bikes. So nice to meet and chat and enjoy the day.

It's a grass airfield with a pub serving a good selection of beer at a reasonable price (cash only) What is not to like. Will be back to fly

The Milli-Bar is unassuming excellence. It may not be perfect but If you accept it as it is your visit will be memorable being the heart of Andrewsfield Aerodrome also known as Saling Airfield. The marquee seating area is a nice touch.
